You want to listen to something,
but what? iTunes top 25 most played? Try something new. Don’t turn on the
radio. Everyone does that. There is a genre for everyone. If you like Rock and
Roll and Hardcore music, try “Dubstep”. If you like pop music, there’s a remix
out there for you somewhere. If you like Hip-Hop and Rap music, add a ‘T’ and
check out the Trap Genre. House music is for everyone. Travel even further and
we can delve into the different types: Deep, Tech, Electro, Progressive, Funk,
Main room, etc. When you find that sound you’ve been looking for, it will be
worth that moment you turned off the radio and turned on your mind. You find
that song which seems to exist just for you (or maybe you for it).
“Music doesn't lie. If there is
something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music.”
–Jimi Hendrix
I
used to be as narrow-minded as they come. “Fuck Techno Music, that shit sucks.”
After reading Mumbo Jumbo and learning of the Jes Grew, I decided to take a chance. When you finally
understand what everyone has been talking about. The movement. That moment when you share a
song with your friend and it becomes their new favorite. Being in a crowd of
100,000 people all singing the same song at the top of their lungs. There isn’t
a much better feeling.
